New Year's Resolution?

Last year in blog land, I realized that many people were opting out of a new year's resolution and instead going with a "word" to sum up their goals for the new year. I really liked this idea. So I'm doing it too. Jumping on the bandwagon.  Although it's kind of hard to do.  Pick ONE word. I had many words that I wanted to use. And actually, almost didn't pick this word because it seems too common.  Too cheesy.  But it encompasses what I want to live out this year...

My word for the year is as follows...

Hope is a word that I think encompasses how I should live this year.  with hope.  Hope that will carry me along.  Hope for our Ethiopian baby...and his life with us.  Hope in our future in Columbus, GA.  Hope for what doing photography might bring us .  Hope....

"...For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord,
"Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future..."

Jeremiah 29:11

Hope...that I can change patterns in my life that are not positive.  Hope...that my friends who have experienced heartache can experience joy this year.

HOPE....choosing to HOPE this year instead of allowing sadness and grief to overwhelm.  Choosing to hope in the future that is promised to us as believers in the gospel of Christ.

So today, the first day of 2011, I will HOPE.  And I will try to pursue life with HOPE all year long.

  2. Hope is the thing with feathers
    That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
    And never stops at all.
