Resting...

in this...
Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank him for what he has done.  If you do this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand.  His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
  Phillipians 4:6-7

I will not worry about when this baby will come.  It will be in the Lord's time.
I will not worry about what he will look like, as the Lord has made him perfect.
I will not worry about my kids at school, as I know the Lord has a plan for them, and has a sweet, godly substitute who can step in when I am away.
I will not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring it's own worries :) (Matthew 6:34)
I will continue walking and trusting that God is good.
I'm a little nervous. It could be another 5 weeks, or it could be just a matter of days.  I am so excited to meet sweet Briar.  And I know the Lord will give me just what I need to do that.

And when I return from the hospital, I know I'm coming home to this:

Praying you have a wonderful day!

  4. I'm not sure if you remember me from working together at Kanakuk, but I always thought the world of you. You are truly a remarkable and incredible woman. You are so faithful and trusting in the Lord's perfect will. I am praying for you, your husband and sweet baby Briar. He has amazing, God-fearing parents and his time with you has been so blessed. Thank you for your honesty in sharing this with all of us.

  5. found your blog via another - I'm a teacher too (1st grade)! Due Sept 30 with Sammy, who also has anencephaly like your Briar. I'll add ya'll to my prayer list...

It's amazing to me how easy I can pretend this is a normal pregnancy when parents, coworkers (who somehow missed the email and don't know), strangers, or even when the kids ask something about Sammy. He's a mover for sure too.

I love your 3D ultrasound pix, we haven't gotten any but at our last ultrasound Sammy wouldn't take his hands away from his head, which was buried in my hip - so interesting to hear that babies will "hide" their differences.
