Updates...

Hey friends!
It is September 11.  A day to remember all the sacrifice of our men and women in NYC and also to the military for working so hard for the last 9 years to protect our country.
Thanks for the sweet words of encouragement through text, facebook and my blog. I feel very loved and prayed for. I am sure I could continue to use the encouragement as time goes.
(my hubby thought I was done when I fell asleep, so he published this),
I was going to give you a real update. :)

I have been in the hospital since Thursday night....so we're at about 48 hours in right now.
I knew coming in that I would have to be patient.
This is a process.
I really prayed that Tricare would NOT approve anything unless it was the Lord's timing.  I prayed that we would not have any affirmation to move forward unless it was the Lord's timing.  I trust that is still true.  So, we will proceed and move forward.  I had almost threeTHREE LITERS of fluid drained from my belly on Thursday via amnio reduction.  At that point, we could have tried to continue for another week or two, but my mdwife will be out of town, and the doctor's and midwives are concerned that with a growing baby and growing fluid, these conditions will only get worse for me and for Briar.

I am praying for a 'normal' delivery as opposed to a c-section, but I am open to that option if I need to go that route.  So far we have not broken my water, we are simply trying to make sure my body is ready for labor first. I am contracting quite a bit and we are waiting for my effacement to be 100%.  Everyone is so patient and wonderful.  It has been wonderful here.  The nurses are amazing. We are just hanging out with some worship music on, walking the halls, and trying to trust in the Lord's timing for this sweet boy.

I would say it's kind of like waiting on a deployment to come.  You NEVER want it to arrive, but you know it is inevitable.  You know the Lord has called your family to the journey, even if you don't love it.  But at some point, you're just ready to start the deployment so you can move forward.  I am just praying for continued patience.

"Truly my soul silently waits for God; from him comes my salvation; he only is my rock and my salvation;he is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved"  Psalm 62:1-2

Thanks for your sweet words as we wait patiently on the Lord, and our sweet little boy.  We are excited to meet him!

Praying for you non-stop on the other side of the world. Sarah B is keeping me updated. Praying that everything would happen exactly according to his timing, that you would not experience any anxiety over what to do when, and that you would experience a supernatural peace that truly passes all understanding.... and of course for the best delivery possible. Your strength is to be admired my friend. You are truly such an inspiration. I love you so much.

  6. Praying so hard. I went to CRU with you my first year at UK, and I never really got a chance to know you. However, I came across your blog, and you are such an amazing woman of faith. I had no idea about little Briar's condition until I saw updates on facebook. Praying so hard for peace for you and your family, and a safe and healthy delivery.

  11. Brooke, despite the valleys, the dry places, the times that steal our very breath, God is ever faithful, present, strong, and gentle.
I will pray that God reveals to you and your husband something that is specifcally yours from your sweet little boy. Watch for it, it is there.
My mothers heart surrounds you and my warriors heart stands guard.
