Monogrammed...EVERYTHING..

Get Ready. This is FUN.

I love monograms. Maybe not as much as some people in the south, but I love them still. Today was the perfect day to check out Design Sponge and see all the fun Monogrammed BAKING they are doing. Fun, huh? We all know how much I like to bake. In fact, I did make those fun, rainbow cupcakes the other day. It was so fun to see the faces when the kids opened them up and saw the fun surprise inside!

If you're going to have multi color cupcakes, you MUST have multi-color bowls!

Once I mixed up the cake batter (from the box) I spread it into several bowls. I simply mixed in food coloring until I obtained the color I desired. Some of the colors (Hello ugly purple on the left) didn't turn out exactly as I hoped...but that is part of the process!!

At this point, I was wondering why I began baking at 10pm. Poor choice, I continued to remind myself....yet I pressed on.

GOOD THING! These were so much fun. So cute...

I tore the top off the cupcakes so I could showcase the inside of the cuties. Too bad I forgot to take a picture of these once they were frosted with sprinkles. They were so cute. But it was too late. 11:30 when these finished. It didn't work out well for me. But, it was worth it.

Happy Weekend!!!!!!

Curtains and Cupcakes..

Oh man. I'm tired.
But not too tired to make rainbow cupcakes! Tomorrow is "Incredibly Terrific Kid Day" at school...and these sweet kids deserve it. Well, and I've been wanting to try them. They were super fun to make. Speaking of fun things to make...that is why I got on this evening...to talk about the awesome curtains I recently made.

Well, according to "The Nester", it doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful. So these that I made can be considered BEAUTIFUL! I have been following her tutorials for 'window mistreatments' for almost a year now...but I have been too afraid to actually make anything. I had some basic brown curtains that didn't quite reach the ground...and I knew I needed to do something to make them more exciting. I found some cute fabric and attached it to the end of the curtain using a GLUE GUN...that's right...no sewing here. I did these in about 20 minutes...including attaching the pom poms on top of the fabric addition. They look pretty cute and make the window really pop!

At the top of the the curtains, I ran some clearance-found silk across the top and tacked it up...then attached some AWESOME pom poms I found at Hobby Lobby.

Not perfect. But beautiful :)

Cupcake Awesomeness...

Have you ever heard of Hungry Girl? Well if you haven't....you've been sleeping for several years. Was that insulting? I didn't mean it. Well, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings but I did mean to awaken you to her 'amazing-ness'. I was into her well before her first cookbook, which you can buy here. These are not included in either of her two cookbooks, but they look awesome. These cupcakes are a very toned down calorie (but not taste) version of vanilla cupcakes.

I'm thinking of playing a little game with this version and coloring them, sort of like Meg did...

I'll update when I make them, which just might be tomorrow since I have the day off.
You've got to appreciate military schools and the middle of the week day off for Veteran's Day. We'll take what we can get :)
Have a great Wednesday!
