The Christmas Tree Adventure

We had such a fun time making a new holiday tradition for our family this year. After going on a mini adventure to get our tree, I know for sure we won't go to a tree stand on Veteran's parkway ever again. It was so simple, but SO FUN to ride the hay wagon out to the field to find out tree! We could have cut it down, but the nice guy with the chainsaw came, so we let him do it :) It was fun looking around to find just the perfect tree. Usually it is pretty far off in the corner, because noone wants to go all the way to the back to find it! :)

I love making traditions and knowing that in the future we can do these fun things with our kids! It was pretty darn fun going with my parents and hubby too ...

I love Christmas and all the fun things that go with it. This was just the first little step in getting ready for the holidays. I'm having trouble decorating it. I have so many fun ideas, but I don't feel like taking the time to 'create'....I'm so tired lately after work. I forgot how draining it is to run after sweet second graders all day!

Hope you have a great Thursday!

The fun little hay ride that was like a revolving door! As soon as one left, a new one pulled in!

If those aren't my parents, I'm not sure who is. :) This lighting was horrible, but I'm so thankful to have a picture of my awesome parents :)

Maybe I should've chosen sturdier or warmer shoes. But my dad also went with the boat shoes. Maybe not the smartest choice. But style always over comfort...that's what i say :)

  3. Growing up, we always used to do this with my parents and it was one of my favorite things about Christmas! I'll confess, we have a fake tree this year, but you've inspired me to get a real one next year. :)

Great pics! We went "real" this year and I never want to go back - they smell so good! I sure do miss you, mama Wollison and Speedy Pete!
